Certainly rising to the occasion in Europe now after a slow start!

    Big game for Hesp

Did Mendieta really stay in Middlesbrough?

    Random game for Hesp

Important 1st win in group and 3 points on the board - I'm prob targeting Lyon for points and maybe Valencia - ANYTHING from Rome would be a huge bonus!

Not sure if Mendieta is still there?!

Away to 10th placed West Ham but they are really climbing the table after a poor start!

    Team News

Hesp injured and Lizarazu rested so Bruggink and Davidson come in

    The Game

"All action game at Upton Park where either team could have won, but Swans come out victorious!!"

Really good first have with both teams going at it us on a fine run of form but same for Hammers as well

Surprised its 0-0 at HT this could finish any score!

And there is a goal just 5 mins in when Yury cannot save an unstoppable shot!

Im just about to make a change as Alexiou is having a stinker but then he gets a vital equaliser picking up Tobross long ball!

Just 2 minutes later and we are in the lead! Inzaghi with a bullet header from Alexious cross!

Its close towards the end but thankfully the 4th goal goes our way when Tobros nods home from a Bellamy corner

Brilliant game and we come out victors but it could easily have been different!

The whole front line were superb today

    Spoiler!

Up to 2nd and on the march!

    Injury News

    Phew!

    FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

    Feck sake couldnt be harder

    Media Praise

    As the fans would say..

Fell behind on this, but going to catch up now!

Mixed feelings about the draw in the CL. Roma is beastly and Valencia decent as well. With good results against Lyon and Valencia you could go through to the quarters, but you'll need all the luck you can get.

Rene Meulensteen. I always sign him as an assistant as well.

Fully disagree on the Jack transfer. What a joke. A player THAT good should not be allowed to leave for so LITTLE money. Bad decision i.m.o. as I also think he can become better with his 24 years. Time will tell, but I think you made a mistake here.

Man U or Arse in EFL Cup is always tough, but at least you're at home.

Fowler looks beastly good so well done there despite his 31 years.

Deserved win against Spurs with Super Pipo on fire. Arteta with a 10 as well so probably chipped in with some assists?

And then your whole team gets the flu!

Good performance against WBA with Alexiou shining again. Is he still unhappy?

Well that game against Valencia was over after 6 minutes. What a rollercoaster of a match for hesp.

    New club record, woohoo!!

Great win against the Hammers with Pipo finally starting to continue his good form. ok: Vrede very poor though so good call to sub him off with a 5 after their goal.

Swans virtually on top if they win their game in hand. Could this be THE season everything falls into place?

Liverpool in the FA Cup, always a tough match that but a home game so you've got a chance there.

Alexiou on fire! Wins like that will keep you in contention up there, as long as you get points against the big boys too.

    Mahoosive win!

Although we looked better on stats they could have easily won it - one of those mad games!

Yeah - if we we wanna get Top 4 we do have to bust out a few away wins like this for sure!

CL – yes – need to get results v Valencia and Lyon – ANYTHING v Roma would be a bonus – good start v Valencia tho!

Rene has excellent att’s – always better as an Assistant

Jack – REALLY tough call – didn’t do it at all last year but maybe I should have given him more chances – we’ll keep an eye on him in Scotland and see how he does up there anyway

Both Cup draw are NOT ideal and I’d love a cup run again but could be out of both very early!

Fowler att’s are insane but he’s scored feck all last few years despite plenty of games - another Vassell?!

Yeah – Arteta had 2 assists v Spurs

Flu went on for a good couple of games

Alexiou is thankfully a happy camper again

Valencia – soooooooo lucky with Red Card – Hesp mentally exhausted after it

Helluva record for us as we are on a fine run

Pippo has finally got the gals his performances have deserved! Vrede got warned

Crikey – I’d surely say too early for League Title but we’ve had a great start and held up well with midweek CL games and League weekend games. Hey – if we do fall out o both cups it may not be a bad thing for a league push?!

Away to 17th placed Man City who are really struggling this season!

    Team News

Cisse isn’t fully fit so O’Donnell is given a game with Boateng on bench

    The Game

"A point gained away to Man City in a subdued Swans performance!!"

Well – we haven’t turned up today

Very lacklustre first half – 2nd to every ball, no zip, no desire and we fall behind when David Johnson is unmarked and puts “The Citizens” 1 up

Half time and the lads get a bollocking – if this doesn’t change soon at HT I’m making multiple changes!

Feck all improves so a double change made after 60

And it pays straight off when sub Mulryne strikes a sweet half volley

The subs all improve our performance but City push hard at the end are probably unlucky not to win it

O’Donnell take his chance again – he’s really developing nicely with us between 1st team games and reserve footie

    Spoiler!

One of our games in hand and we go joint top with this point

    Post Match Interview

Reporter: A point gained or dropped today Redders?

Redders: Gained in my opinion. We were poor for most of the game until our subs came on and we could have lost it at the end

Reporter: But it’s a good team that doesn’t lose when playing poorly isn’t it?

Redders: Yes – and we ARE a good team. We have been on a fine run and the start to the season has been very good. Joint top of League, Solid start in 2nd Group Phase in Champions League but the hard work is to come with the festive period and games everywhere

Reporter: And a couple of words on Bellamy’s arrival and Ledley King seemingly making the right back spot his own?

Redders: Ledley has done really well, he’s a good athlete and can get forward when needs be (ok his final ball isn’t great but he’s not a winger :lol but his bread and butter is defending. Whilst Bellamy has been phenomenal. Goals, assist, creativity. A lot of what we were missing in midfield for many years. And he can play further up if needs be. I’m very happy with them and young O’Donnell who was MOM today. We have a very nice squad to go into Christmas

Reporter: Well, thanks and good luck!

    Player of the Month

Well deserved – Goals have finally come into his game this season but worth the weekly wage we are paying him

And he’s loving life in South Wales

    Young Player of the Month

A goal, assist and general excellent defending – he’s developing into a lovely centre half

A point gained given the scoreline, but two points lost when you look at their position in the league.

Well done for Pipo and Tobros picking up the awards! No Manager of the Month award for you?

n away point is never a bad thing

And we were poor today - TBH - I'm happy with a point

We remain unbeaten from our run so can't complain

Neither did I but I've played Clancy/Carragher, O'Leary and none have taken their chances!

King has been solid at RB which is what we need - he's a D/DM in game so thought it's worth a go!

It's one of them they prob played better than league position and we played a lot worse and away from home - was only after I made subs we played ok

    Both deserve the awards

MOM went to Graham Rix from Leeds who won all 4 league games - we won 3 from 4, a cup game and 2 CL games!

Away to 14th placed Middlesborough who are currently on the slide – let’s add to those woes please!

    Team News

O’Donnell plays again as he’s ineligible for the CL game in 3 days time

We go strong as we can otherwise. Would be ideal to get a couple up and rest some players before the CL game

    The Game

"NINE man Swansea hold out for a vital 3 points in bruising encounter!!"

Flying start and even more so when Alexiou scores from a Bellamy cross

We really should be 2 up then but can’t make it count

Then – Bellamy see’s red mist and a red card when he shoves Whelan!

Inaghi is the man to come off and Mulryne on – he has a goal disallowed just before HT as well

Boateng comes on to make CM more solid for Arteta

The for the same reason with Savage for Bruggink

Last minute and we are down to NINE men with Tobros gets a red for a professional foul (saved us a possible equaliser though )

Alexiou did a magnificent job up top on his own. Yury and O’Donnell kept our “spine” real strong as well

    Spoiler!

We go top but others have games in hand

    Suspension News

I’ve appealed against both and hopefully will get shortened as the FA agree the ref had a mare

    Board Feedback

Not sure what else they want me to do on the pitch yet they are not helping us off the pitch

Wow well done to hold onto that lead when you played more than a half with a ten men.

But Middlesbrough deserved a draw here in all fairness which makes your performance even more amazing.

Long supsension for both Bellamy and Tobros, but given that the FA agreed that the ref was poor they might reduce it?

The board are feckers. They've done nothing to contribute to the club so far and it's all on you. The Swans Trust will have your back no doubt!

Could be my own fault as I do have "hard" tackling on and always asking the lads to go in big!

But the ref had a shocker and FA agreed with me

Great win - should have been 2 up by HT but we had to hold on until the end!

    Top as well

2nd half they did push for a goal but we really should have been 2 up by HT

Can't argue on stats a draw would have been fair result

Big suspensions - let's hope the FA agree to take action on the Muppet of a ref otherwise we'll be without then for some time

FYI - The board IS the Swans Trust remember! It's just a group of fans - they don't have much money themselves to pump into club but we do have over 10m available to spend on transfers etc so not sure why at the least they won't upgrade training facilities!
