    for me,

    best performers

Neil Lennon [after all the shit he has had to go thru, on the verge of the title, got to the league cup final, in the semi of the scottish cup, all this having lost the league on last day of season last year, losing league cup final last year and winning scot cup last year]
Fraser Forster - future england gk maybe?
    Charlie Mulgrew - different gravy
    Thomas Rogne - class act,
Beram Kayal [untill he got injured]
Scott Brown - great leader, great player
Victor Wanyama - the new desailly
James Forrest - what a talent
Adam Matthews - could be a real star, needs to work on final ball tho

    let downs

Kris Commons [been terrible, although injured a wee bit at times]
Gary Hooper [last 3 months has not kicked a ball] i'd sell if a good bid comes in.
Emilio Izzaguirre [i know he was injured for months] but seems to be lacking confidence to get back to the form that won him player of the year last season
Ki [went off the boil a bit] like hooper, i would sell if the price is right.
Anthony Stokes - just don't think he is good enough.
This is how is how it feels to be Celtic,
    Champions again as you'll know,

McCoist - acted with dignity throughout the whole shambles, kept the players upbeat and together.
Shagger - top class keeper, pulls off amazing saves time and time again.
Aluko - been the ray of light amongst the darkness

The rest have pretty much all been let downs, albeit under difficult circumstances.

    My own team:

    Unexpected good performance:
    - José Luque: already 8 goals, deadly freekicks, brilliant left foot and generally enthusiastic on every match. Also a very friendly guy!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql5whFjOjes
    - Francisco 'Paco' Gallardo: lots of assists, devilish skill with the ball and pacey too. This guy is tearing defenses apart.

    Letdown:
    - Ákos Lippai: kind of disappointing season from the former captain. He was also involved in match fixing.
    - Tibor Tisza: 3 goals from a striker. He is also very intolerable, breaks team spirit...

    Best:
Jonny Evans - suffered a barrage of criticism the last couple of years, but has absolutely redeemed himself this season and made Nemanja Vidic's injury-enforced absence barely noticeable.
Antonio Valencia - vastly underrated, but is proving himself to be vital to United's title run-in.
Michael Carrick - like Evans, has suffered a lot of criticism in recent years, mostly justified, but has rediscovered his form this season and stepped up to the plate.
Wayne Rooney - top-scorer for United and arguably the most irreplaceable member of the squad at the moment.
Ryan Giggs - shouldn't still be performing at his age, but somehow still manages to defy all logic by actually meriting his place in the team.
Paul Scholes - like Giggs, defies all logic by still commanding a place at his age, but has been an absolute revelation since returning to the club in January.

    Worst:
Anderson - has had so many opportunities to prove his worth, this season and the last few, started brightly alongside Tom Cleverley but very quickly faded, and must surely be running out of time now to establish his career at the club.
Nani - arguably one of the most talented members of the squad, but could learn a thing or two from Vanelcia about getting the basics right before showboating so much, and is still far too wasteful in possession.
Park Ji-Sung - has been praised so often for his work-rate and effort in recent years, but it seems age is catching up on him, and it's no coincidence that he's not trusted in the big games as much as he used to be.

    Best:

Demba Ba - started the season like a train. Everything he touched turned to gold. Up until the African Nations. Has come back from there with a different strike partner and has been asked to play a slightly different, deeper role and he has 'taken one for the team' and sacrificed goals.

Papiss Cisse - has hit the ground running. Difficult coming in with the pressure of the Newcastle Number 9 on your shoulders but he has taken to it well. Still getting used to the pace of the league and rarely finishing 90 minutes so could get better with extra stamina.

James Perch - has stepped up to the plate. Rarely put a foot wrong this season. Having to come in for the first injured Steven Taylor and now Captain Coloccini, he has been dependable and reliable when called on.

    Worst:
Jonas - his crossing is now seen to be so bad, he's been relegated to an emergency full back. He can beat people fine but absolutely cannot cross. And he doesn't score enough either.

Alan Smith - nice guy don't get me wrong. Great for the young and youth players to have in the changing room but must have known a long time ago that he wasn't going to get a look in at first team level. So could have either taken a wage reduction from his stupidly high wage or got himself a transfer away.

    Best:
    David Trezeguet - He's class.

    Worst:
Nicolas Domingo - He gives the ball to the other side constantly and he does not stop anyone unless conceding a dangerous free kick (he plays defensive midfield).

    Best players:

Wayne Hennessey - Has been immense, made some unbelievable saves this year. Made a few errors but I put that down to confidence due to playing behind the worst defence in europe

Steven Fletcher - Goals have dried up of late but ten goals for us two years running is a miracle. Will move on in the summer and personally I think Liverpool should buy him, they'd be doing better if they had him instead of Carroll this season

Stephen Ward - We all dream of a team of Stephen Wards.

Matty Jarvis - first half of the season was average but has since got better and better and better Beats full backs for fun and has got 4 in his last 8. If someone like Downing goes to the euros ahead of him I will sue.

    Worst:

Roger Johnson - Slower than Craddock, makes more mistakes than Stearman and is worse than Berra on the ball. Fuck me he's been bad.

Jamie O'Hara - Never been fit, but has put in some VERY poor performances.

Kevin Doyle - Played better since February but before that had been a shadow of the player he can be.

    best:

Cardozo - although the usual open goal misses, he scores a lot
Witsel - smooth and reliable in the passes, scored in some important games
Aimar - the magic is lost when he is not there
Artur Moraes - simply the best keeper in portugal

    worst:
Saviola - never lived up to his reputation or even recent past in Benfica. time for him to go back to River and enjoy a golden retirement
Emerson - not a substitute to Coentrão at all

Doyle has forgotten to think for himself. He's a battering ram/workhorse for club and country. Must the only striker used without the intention of him scoring. Easy to see why his confidence is shot to bits!

Dean Whitehead - Of all the central midfielder at our disposal, I think Deano has been head and shoulders above the rest. He has such a great engine and a willingness to get stuck in which we all love. If he was played alongside a creative midfielder, I think he'd look an even better player.
Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross - Proving that our defence is key at Stoke, the duo have kept Woodgate + Upson away from the 1st team as they've kept their partnership going. Huth with his goals as well.
Peter Crouch - Still can't believe Crouchy plays for Stoke! Record signing so he has a massive weight on his shoulders but he's been our player of the season really, scoring some great goals along the way.

    Worse
Kenwyne Jones - After arriving at the club in style and scoring a few crucial goals this year, he seems to have sunk into the shadows following Crouch's arrival at the club. When he gets a start, he doesn't score and ends up being replaced. A hugely frustrating player when you know how good he can be in the air.
Ricardo Fuller - With his contract due to expire this summer, everyone expected him to return from his year long injury to prove himself worthy of a new contract. But in typical Fuller style, he bags a red card for stamping on Ivanovic and may no longer be our talisman up front.
Jonathan Walters - Says a lot that I've named 3 strikers as our worse players this year. Goals have been a major problem and for Walters, it has. He's missed 2 or 3 penalties and only has something like 9 goals to his name all season in all games. After his performances last year where he terrorised defences and scored some great goals, he's been a shadow of that player. Most people think he has been overworked by Pulis.
Etherington + Pennant - After our success last year where the two wingers were on top form, they've failed to deliver this season. Etherington has struggled with form and injuries despite flashes of his talents whilst Pennant obviously got into bother with Pulis and has been in and out of the team ever since.
Tony Pulis - Sticking him in here for one reason only. While I'll always appreciate that he's brought us to where we are today, the tactics that he employs are finally getting on my wick. It's not so much his home tactics but his insistence in setting out defensively away from home where he very rarely players both wingers. Then there's his insistence in taking our wingers off after an hour when we do actually start them.
Wilson Palacios - We've seen in glimpses what he can do but then there's been times where he has looked woefully short of pace and gets easily outmuscled. Apparently, he joined us with a knee problem which is why Pulis plays him sparingly so hopefully with a full pre-season behind him, he'll be a top player next season. Fingers crossed!

    Best Players:

Jose Enrique - For most of the season he looked like being the bargain buy of the summer, but lately has been rather poor. He needs to learn when to go forward and when to sit back, he also needs to learn where and when to release the ball to fellow team members

Martin Skrtel - Been a rock at the back alongside agger and easily one of the most improved and consistant players in the league. He has popped up with a few goals and up till january he was part of a defence that was one of the best in the league in terms of goals conceded. Looks rather average along side a very poor carragher probably because he is having to cover for carras mistakes.

Daniel Agger - Yes he has been injured a lot again, but when fit has been class alongside Skrtel. Just wish he could stay injury free for a lot longer.

    Worst Players:

Rest of the squad!!!!! Most of this side is average at best, Suarez is a great player but his whole attitude is questionable and is beginning to piss off a lot of people with how selfish and greedy he is with the ball. Personally if a decent enough bid was to arrive in the summer from say P.S.G I would personally snap it up and get him gone, Along with the likes of Adam, Downing, Carroll, Henderson (on loan to a mid table team where he can play pressure free and learn), Kuyt, Spearing, Maxi, Aurelio And maybe one or two more of the fringe players too.

    Best players:
Holt - Banged them in at all levels he has played in. Everyone (including me) doubted he would score more than a handful in the prem tho. 2nd top scoring Englishman in the Prem and deserves all the plaudits he gets.

R.Martin - Had sooooo many injuries in defense this season and he has filled in everywhere. Right back, left back and chucked in for many games at centre back. Not let us down once. Also happy to sit on bench when needs be.

Ruddy - For me this guy other than Hart has been best English keeper in the league. Without him we may be much nearer the drop zone than we are now. Made some mistakes, but makes up for it with some real wonder saves.

    Worst players:
Crofts - Looked out of his depth when called upon this season, gave his all, but its not enough. Sure we will let him go at end of season.

Ward - You either love the guy or hate the guy. Has had some gr8 displays since returning. But spent most of season injured and is slow and wreckless too often.

Barnett - Absalutely crap defender, last choice defender now and rightly so, please get rid asap!!

    Other mentions:
Whole squad has been ace, but new signings Howson and R.Bennett have been amazing. 2 gr8 pieces of business in Jan.

    Sheffield United...

    Best Players:

Kevin McDonald - Central Midfield - This player is an absolute genius. He runs the games. Such a great touch, an amazing pass. Makes the game go at his pace. Always in space and always finds the space. The Blades had their main dip when he was injured. Think we only got him on a 1 year deal as he had a bad past at Burnley, but he is young and I desperately hope we can hold onto him.

Ched Evans - Striker - He has been unplayable in so many matches this season. Started 28 Games in the League. Scored 26 goals. Another 6 goals in the Cups. He is a level above League 1.

Harry Maguire - Central Defender - He may not be the quickest lad, but his positioning and decision making are unbelievable. He's great in the air and barely loses any headers. He's strong and big. Pretty comfortable with the ball at his feet. At only 18 years old. A bright future in the game.

Matt Lowton - Right Back - His all round game is great. Quick, Strong, good in the tackle, good at going forward...

Stephen Quinn - Left Midfield - This man never stops running. He is always giving it 100%. And he is capable of a flash of genius. He needs to do it more often and score a few more goals, but he's got it in his locker. He's quick, strong and has a great cross and pass. He's got 14 assists in the league.

Lee Williamson - Midfield - Williamson injects some class. You can tell he is used to playing at a higher level. Great touch on him and gets forward and back to help the defence. Scored 10 league goals, which is really good for a midfielder who doesnt take penalties.

    Other Players:

Neil Collins - Central Defender - Just need to give him a mention, as he was shocking last season but has given his all and improved this year and developed a great partnership with young Harry Mcguire.

Richard Cresswell - Forward - Never stops running. Drives himself into the ground. A fantastic pro.

Steve Simonsen - Goalkeeper - Greatly improved this year and looks very solid at this level.

    Worst Players:

This is tough as we are 2nd in the table, if we get a point 2nite.......??????...

Chris Porter - Back Up Striker - Seems to be lost when on the pitch... Not been impressed at all with him.

Michael Doyle - Centre Midfield - Although he hasnt done anything wrong. He looks lost when McDonald doesnt play....

    UP THE BLADES..

Interesting race for 2nd between the 2 Sheff clubs. Evans for me could be the difference. Impressed me when on loan at Norwich a few seasons back. Went downhill a bit since then but now seems to have found his feet. Certainly will be paying close attention to the race for 2nd.

    Wow, a great idea

Sell average players for peanuts, so that Liverpool doesn't have anybody left for rotation duties.

It is not the fault of Carroll, Henderson, Downing or Adam that they were bought for an insane amount. They could provide decent backups in the case the leaders don't perform or need rest. The problem is that Liverpool doesn't have class at the moment.

Downing, Carroll and Henderson would fit perfectly to a team where they sit on the bench on most matches, and only play if - random class player - is rested or injured.

DON'T sell them, buy 3-4 good players to fill out the squad.

Got so much abuse at Wolves, glad to hear he's done well this season. A player that summed up why I loved Mick's first season at the club. Short of ability, but made up for it in spirit and fight.
